I think Beaumer can give Deegan some pressure if he can get the start.

This is a huge bummer, Malcom was looking great speed wise.

A couple things stood out to me at San Diego.

              450’s – The Good

              1. Eli Tomac – Is this 2022? He surely has picked up where he left off and the field needs to stop him quick.

              2. Cooper Webb – Webb is back. He looks spicy and ready to race. Keeping Eli close until the last lap was impressive, I think he steals a win soon.

              3. Justin Barcia – Barcia does what Barcia does. He will take a few people out, end up on the podium a few times, and give us great entertainment.

              450’s – The Bad

              1. Malcom Stewart – Mookie has the speed to run up front and podium or even steal a race win, but he HAS to stay off the ground.

              2. Christina Craig – I expected him to be a little closer to the front, but I think this is a wake up call and a “welcome” to the 450 class. When I saw him getting lapped, I thought that may be a blow to the confidence.

              3. Jason Anderson – Jason has the speed, he is just his own worst enemy out there.

              250’s – The Good

              1. Jett – Jett is in a league of his own. Unless he goes down, I think he sweeps the West Coast.

              2. Enzo Lopes – What a ride in the first two races, he has shown he has the speed to threaten for a podium. I think he needs to get used to being up front and get endurance for that pace.

              3. Stilez Robertson – It looks like it was going to be a long main for Stilez after having issues in the first turn, but he charged through the pack for a 6th. I think he is capable of sneaking in a podium.

              250’s – The Bad

              1. Levi Kitchen – Another year, and more of the same. Super fast but cannot stay off the ground.

              2. Max Vohland – Not really sure what to say about Max. Had a great A1, but made too many mistakes and missed the main in SD.

I think it’s the best vlog going. Phil, Enzo and Jeremy are pure gold!

Agree with you there. Whole team vibe seems awesome.

HAHA! I would agree except there was no way they were going to be able to build the track with all the slop mud they have.

A1 yesterday was great. Even with all of the rain California has had the past few weeks, the Dirt Wurx crew did a great job to get the track ready for the night show. Practice was a bit soft and soggy but the track during the night show was much better and allowed for great racing. The opening ceremonies seemed underwhelming in comparison to years past, I’ve been coming to A1 since 2001 and this one felt a bit rushed/un prepared.

                            250 Class

                            • Jett Lawrence – Jett did Jett things, he looked in control all day through practice and the heat race and got out to a holeshot in the main event. It looked like he was on cruise control and had another gear if he really needed it.
                            • RJ Hampshire – RJ looked fast all day, winning his heat. I think he has some speed and could challenge Jett, but that all depends on if he can hold it together at each race.
                            • Cameron Mcadoo – Cameron is like RJ in my opinion, he has some real speed and could challenge for race wins, but will he be able to be consistent and stay off the ground.

                            Other notes

                            • Mitchell Oldenburg – Was solid all day and night. He was strong in the main and had a great finish in 4th.
                            • Max Vohland – It was good to see Max step up and be towards the front where he belongs. His 5th place finish was a great step in the right direction in comparison to last year.
                            • Enzo Lopes – Can you say speed? Enzo qualified P1 and looked good all day. Had a bad start in the main but not a bad first race.
                            • Stilez Robertson/Levi Kitchen – I expected these guys to be more in the mix, but it didn’t look like they were very comfortable in the soft rutted conditions.

                            450 Class

                            • Eli Tomac – Watch out, if this is how Eli is going to ride all year the class is in trouble. He played it cool and safe all day and made it happen when it counts. To go down and drop back to 6thish and come back to win was impressive.
                            • Cooper Webb – What a charge through the pack for Coop. He didn’t have a great start but just worked his way through the guys and got Sexton with a lap to go for 2nd.
                            • Chase Sexton – Chase was fast, but too many mistakes cost him the win.

                            Other notes

                            • Aaron Plessinger – Had speed all day and looked much better than last year, just had some mistakes. I think he had top 5 speed at A1.
                            • Ken Roczen – Kenny looked “OK” all day, he had speed but it looked like he got tired in the main event.
                            • Adam Cianciarulo – Not bad for a first race back, I think his goal was to just make it through the race. Honestly didn’t even notice him all day.
                            • Colt Nichols – Great result for Colt for his first race in the 450 class. During practice he looked way off the pace and was around 15-17th. He took advantage of the mistakes of others in the main and finished 6th.

Shoot, I didn’t see this until today.  How was the racing live?

It was a great A1 in my opinion. Track was a little soft but I think it tested the riders. There was some great racing, the 450 main was a blast to watch and the crowd was going crazy.
